According to statistics from Tuduo, China's titanium dioxide output in January 2024 was 376,100 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 4.63%, a year-on-year increase of 27.79%, and output increased by 81,800 tons year-on-year.
In January, the output in titanium dioxide areas increased and decreased. Enterprises that had stopped production in the early stage resumed. Due to the continuous maintenance of some manufacturers, and production restrictions in some areas, the output of titanium dioxide in January decreased overall compared with December.
The top three regions in January's output were Sichuan, Shandong and Henan, accounting for 21%, 16%, and 13% of the total output respectively;
In January, the output of chlorinated titanium dioxide was 54,600 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 3.35%, a year-on-year increase of 14.83%, and the output increased by 7,000 tons year-on-year.
In January, about a dozen companies in the market were overhauled and reduced production, and manufacturers consumed more inventory. In addition, some people in the market believed that prices had reached the bottom and the market began to stock up. The titanium dioxide market was tight, and low prices began to rise; in February, the market was affected by the Spring Festival holiday. Some manufacturers in Guangxi and other regions have maintenance plans, and some companies in the market are still reducing production. The increase in titanium dioxide production in February was limited, and the market has expectations for rising again.
