Dawn Titanium, a subsidiary of Dawn Group, recently announced a major investment plan to spend 1.019 billion yuan to build a new 100,000-ton/year co-production titanium dioxide project.

It is understood that the project is constructed in the existing factory area of Shandong Dawn Titanium Co., Ltd. The proposed project adopts the co-production sulfuric acid process to produce high-quality rutile titanium dioxide. The project will build a new 100,000 t/a rutile titanium dioxide crude production line, a 100,000 t/a (folded into titanium dioxide) titanium dioxide fine production line, and a 135,000 t/a waste acid filtration and concentration production line. The storage and transportation project includes the construction of three 600m3 concentrated sulfuric acid transfer tanks, two 70m3 hydrochloric acid transfer tanks, two 180m3 50% liquid alkali transfer tanks, two 180m3 32% liquid alkali transfer tanks, and two 100 m3 waste sulfuric acid tanks, two 100 m3 recycled sulfuric acid tanks and closed pipelines for liquid materials. After the project reaches production capacity, Dawn Titanium will add an annual output of 100,000 tons of crude rutile titanium dioxide (converted into high-quality titanium dioxide to 115,000 tons/year), and will also produce 340,000 tons/year of heptahydrate ferric sulfate, recovering 135,000 tons/a of sulfuric acid with a concentration of 58%.
