The production site is located in Jiangsu Yangzijiang International Chemical Industrial Park and will support the growing demand for DuPont Transportation and Advanced Polymer (T&AP) business materials. Investing in new composite lines will focus on DuPont Zytel Polyamide (PA) engineering plastics, Delrin acetal (POM) resins, Hytrel thermoplastic polyesters, Multibase thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), lubricants and specialty silicone materials. The plant plans to install a new automotive adhesive line and produce more specialty products in the future, making it the first multi-service manufacturing facility in DuPont in China.
Randy Stone, President of DuPont Transportation and Advanced Polymers, said: "This investment strengthens our commitment to China and Asia. We believe that in the Asian market, our business has strong growth potential. Thanks to our customers' advanced polymerization. Strong demand for solutions and solutions, such as electric and hybrid vehicle manufacturers, our new facility will enable us to support the expected growth of the automotive industry. This investment in cooperation with the Zhangjiagang government will enable us to continue to provide Innovative solutions that serve high-growth end uses in a cost-effective, responsive manner and strengthen our leadership in these key applications worldwide."

China's auto industry will become an important customer of DuPont Zhangjiagang Manufacturing Center. According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), China produced 20.49 million vehicles in the first nine months of 2018. Last year, China produced 29 million cars, more than 2.5 times that of the second-ranked US. China is also a world leader in the production of new energy vehicles, which has driven demand for advanced automotive materials and multi-material joining technologies. In 2017, the sales volume of new energy vehicles was about 777,000. The government expects that by 2020, the annual output of new energy vehicles will reach 2 million. By 2025, the sales of new energy vehicles will account for 20% of total sales. %.
